Candy Egg Smoothie Bowl

Last week, I had the crazy delicious idea to put candy eggs on top of a smoothie bowl for Easter.

I was SURE that someone had done this before, so I took to Pinterest to find a recipe. But I searched, and searched, and there was nothing!

Not a single candy egg smoothie bowl recipe that I could find.

Have I somehow out-#basic-ed Pinterest? Lol.

I guess you can be the judge of that -- with my Candy Egg Smoothie Bowl recipe, below.

This smoothie bowl takes <5 minutes to make!

You just measure out a few smoothie ingredients, throw them in the blender, and add a few toppings. That's it!

For the base, I used Greek yogurt, frozen fruit, vanilla almond milk, and extra vanilla extract.

And the toppings are fresh raspberries, cacao nibs, and -- of course -- the candy eggs.

It's easier if your cat helps! 😜

See below for the detailed recipe, including the exact steps and measurements I used.

Below that are a few extra variations to try.

I hope you like it! ❤️

Candy Egg Smoothie Bowl Recipe

INGREDIENTS

For the smoothie (serves 2):

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • ~3 frozen cherries
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (I used Fage Total; for a sweeter bowl, use plain yogurt or vanilla yogurt instead)
  • 1/4 cup vanilla almond milk (I used Califa Farms)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

For the toppings (per bowl):

  • 1 handful fresh raspberries
  • ~1 tbsp cacao nibs (I used Navitas - which are way cheaper online, FYI!)
  • 1 handful speckled candy eggs (I used Whopper Robin's Eggs)

Tools:

  • Vitamix, or other super strong blender (best for the frozen fruit)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add frozen strawberries, frozen cherries, yogurt, almond milk, and vanilla extract to blender (in that order)
  2. Blend at Level 5 (about half power) for 20-30 seconds, until smooth
  3. Pour into bowl
  4. Gently add toppings (so they stay on the top) -- including raspberries, cacao nibs, candy eggs, and any other desired toppings
  5. Enjoy!

Candy Egg Smoothie Bowl - Variations

If you want to make a few tweaks to my smoothie recipe above, here are some ideas:

  • For a sweeter smoothie, sub either plain yogurt or vanilla yogurt for the Greek yogurt I used
  • For an even simpler recipe, just use a flavored yogurt as the base for these toppings (instead of the smoothie)
  • Go crazy with fun toppings! Fruit, granola, coconut flakes, and a bunch of other toppings would be great on this smoothie base.

If you make this with any other fun variations, let me know!
